Expo 2020 Dubai was initially expected to run from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021, and has now been officially postponed. The Dubai Expo will now run from 1 October 2021 through 31 March 2022.
At a Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) meeting, two-thirds of Member States voted for a one-year postponement of the action. Due to safety risks and travel restrictions resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, the global mega event was postponed.
Expo 2020 Dubai is receiving another huge vote of confidence from nations around the world. About two-thirds majority of BIE Leaders voted to postpone the next Expo by one year. Expo 2020 now runs from October 1, 2021 until March 31, 2022.
