Life in Real Estate in Dubai: A Relentless Journey

Living and working in the real estate industry in Dubai is a unique and all-consuming experience. As I prepare to travel tomorrow for a much-needed holiday, I find myself still unprepared. My suitcase remains empty, and my travel checklist is incomplete. This is the reality of life in real estate—it's a 24/7 commitment, a lifestyle that demands every ounce of your energy and attention.

Just today, I had to rush to print new business cards. Even on holiday, I’m planning to network and prospect for clients and agents. Real estate in Dubai isn’t a job you leave at the office; it’s a constant pursuit of opportunities, a never-ending cycle of meetings, viewings, and negotiations. Some people struggle to understand how someone can immerse themselves so deeply into their work, questioning why evenings and weekends are also filled with calls and appointments. But this is what it takes to succeed in this competitive field.

As a director at fäm Properties, overseeing over 100 different agents, my responsibilities are extensive. Each agent has their own set of challenges, and their problems become my problems. Even as I prepare to leave, I’m still wondering who will handle what task while I’m away. This level of dedication is what helped me grow in my career. Even when I was just an agent, I maintained the same mindset. Every holiday I took was seen as an opportunity to make more money. You can make money and close deals from abroad, and I’ve always embraced this.

Yes, it's true that real estate is not for everyone. The pressures are immense, and the work can be incredibly taxing. Yet, despite the long hours and the occasional headaches, the rewards far outweigh the challenges. There is no other job that offers the financial rewards that real estate does. The potential for success is limitless, and the thrill of closing a deal is unmatched.

Real estate can undoubtedly be one of the hardest jobs in the world. The market fluctuates, clients can be demanding, and the competition is fierce. But there’s something about this industry that keeps pulling me back in, day after day. It's the endless opportunities that present themselves, the chance to meet new people, and the satisfaction of helping someone find their dream home or secure a lucrative investment.

Dubai, with its dynamic market and constant growth, offers a unique landscape for real estate professionals. The city's ever-evolving skyline and the influx of international investors create a vibrant and challenging environment. The more time and effort you invest in this industry, the more it gives back. Opportunities seem to appear out of nowhere, turning hard work into tangible success.

So, as I finally start packing for my holiday, I do so with a sense of excitement for the new connections I’ll make and the potential deals that await. Real estate in Dubai is more than just a job—it’s a passion, a lifestyle, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Despite the challenges, I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. I love it, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
