Dubai's real estate regulator, the Dubai Land Department (DLD), announced on Monday that it has prohibited 10 property owners from leasing or sub-leasing their properties. This decision follows comprehensive inspections conducted in collaboration with the DLD’s strategic partners, which revealed significant overcrowding and safety issues.
The affected property owners have been notified of the ban, which will remain in effect until they rectify the identified issues and fully comply with the required health and safety standards. The DLD emphasized that these stringent actions were necessary due to repeated violations and the failure of the property owners to adhere to previous warnings.
The DLD’s proactive measures aim to ensure the safety and well-being of residents while maintaining stability within Dubai’s booming real estate market. The department has taken a firm stance against any breaches of regulations, which has led to the fining of 286 real estate companies and brokers in 2024 alone for similar infractions.
In light of the growing demand for property in Dubai, fueled by the city's strong economic recovery and population growth, the DLD has called on all property owners and tenants to adhere strictly to the regulations to avoid penalties and ensure the continued prosperity of the market.
