Dubai has successfully become a famous holiday destination for tourists from every region. Dubai's popularity stems from its diverse entertainment options including beaches, desert camping, luxury hotels, shopping, relaxation and a thriving business center. Dubai's tourism statistics of 2016 showcase an increase in the city's tourism and entertainment sectors. The conclusion of 2016 brought in approximately 15-16 million tourists to Dubai, an increase from 14.2 million in 2015. Dubai's tourism industry's projected growth will have a positive impact on Dubai's real estate market. This article highlights the top reason why Dubai's tourism sector will significantly grow in the years to come and how its projected growth directly benefits Dubai's real estate sector.

Steady Population Increase

Dubai's population is steadily growing with more expats seeking work opportunities in the Emirate. The city's growing population is responsible for the launching of new real estate projects and skyscrapers in the city. The Dubai Municipality affirmed that approximately 3,500 residential units should be constructed per year to handle the high influx of expats. The Municipality has predicted that Dubai's population will reach 3.3 million in 2021 and 5.2 million in 2030. The increase in Dubai's population has boosted inter-regional as friends and family visit residents in Dubai.

World Renowned Hotels

Dubai features the world's richest and lavish hotels, providing tourists with a unique experience on each visit. With the city's continuous expansion, visitors can discover new areas, depending on what they desire to see.  Travelers can stay in Dubai's waterfront hotels overlooking the coast or in the heart of the city near the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. Burj al Arab is an ultra-luxurious hotel with world class services that must be visited. Bulgari Hotels & Resorts is a waterfront lavish hotel in Jumeirah Bay Island that is expected to deliver this year. This luxury hotel will consist of 100 room suites with exclusive amenity access.

Multi-Cultural Lifestyle

Tourists can experience Dubai's diverse cultural lifestyle and local Arab culture. Global Village in Dubailand is one of the largest venues for tourism, cultural and entertainment activities in all of Dubai. An attraction to travelers from around the world because it incorporates traditional cultural products from regions around the globe. Its shopping outlets are endless with traditional cuisines, handicrafts and clothing for purchase. Global Village features multiple pavilions themed after a particular region: the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, America, Africa and South Asia regions.

World Class Shopping

Dubai is famous for its shopping outlets with about 96 malls throughout the city. The Mall of Emirates and Dubai Mall welcome millions of visitors seeking high-end fashion brands. The Mall of Emirates attracts skiing enthusiasts of all ages with its indoor ski resort inside the Mall. City Walk in Jumeirah is another iconic shopping area with superb shopping outlets that cannot be found anywhere else in the UAE. The Dubai Mall, located in the heart of Downtown, is one of the world’s most popular malls in the world. It features thousands of stores, restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues.

Dubai Harbour, the MENA's Largest Marina

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the development of ‘Dubai Harbour’, a waterfront marina set to be the largest marina in the Middle East & North Africa region (MENA). The 20 million sq.ft project includes a 1,400 berth marina, a terminal and port, a shopping outlet covering 3.5 million sq. ft, an events arena, luxury residential buildings, hotels, business offices, gourmet restaurants, cafes and a Dubai Lighthouse. Dubai Harbour aims to boost the maritime tourism sector as it can handle the entry of yachts up to 85 metres in length. Dubai Harbour will bring in a high influx of foot traffic tourism as the Harbour will be accessible by monorail to the new Bluewater Island and Palm Jumeirah. A walkable bridge will also connect the Harbour to Palm Jumeirah's west crescent. The Dubai Harbour is expected to be completed after the Dubai Expo 2020.
