The 20 million sq.ft project includes a 1,400 berth marina, a terminal and port, a shopping outlet covering 3.5 million sq. ft, an events arena, luxury residential buildings, hotels, business offices, gourmet restaurants, cafes and a Dubai Lighthouse. Dubai Harbour aims to boost the maritime tourism sector as it can handle the entry of yachts up to 85 metres in length. Dubai Harbour will bring in a high influx of foot traffic tourism as the Harbour will be accessible by monorail to the new Bluewater Island and Palm Jumeirah. A walkable bridge will also connect the Harbour to Palm Jumeirah's west crescent. The Dubai Harbour is expected to be completed after the Dubai Expo 2020.
